Here at Bob Matthews Guitars I strive to make the finest, custom built acoustic guitars.
All my guitars are made using the highest quality materials and tone-woods available, they are all individually crafted to give maximum tonality and playability and are also extremely beautiful.
The acoustic steel string guitars are all made in my purpose built workshop in Lingfield, Surrey.
The inspiration of the choice of materials comes from the natural beauty of the timber’s organic look and feel and how the separate parts contrast or complement one another.
I pay particular attention to the voicing and tuning of the soundboard to give a rich, harmonious tone with great note separation and responsiveness.
Guitar making is a passion for me, I love to be able to create a living, breathing thing of beauty with the knowledge that the music that can come out of one of my instruments, is only limited by the player’s capabilities.
